Power Skating Techniques
Hockey is a unique sport that combines many different skills. Power skating is paramount when training on the ice. Power skating is the fundamental skill from which all other skills develop. When athletes hone their skating technique, they produce the most efficient speed with the least amount of effort. This in turn, creates a player who is not only faster on the ice but also benefits the team significantly. Developing correct power skating techniques will enhance your hockey skills resulting in greater success for the team as a whole.
Shooting Techniques
Shooting is without question one of the most important aspect of hockey. Correct body and hand positioning is essential for an effective shot. Slap shot, snap shot, wrist shot and backhand are just a few things that can be worked on to intensify your game.
Passing Skills
Passing is an underappreciated skill. Hockey is a team sport, that being said, to be successful requires puck movement. Skilled players are able to move the puck from one end of the ice rink to the other. A simple backhanded pass can add one more component to your game.
Puck Control & Stick Handling
Puck control and stick handling skills give players the ability to contribute to the success of the team. Puck control is an imperative skill that requires focus and concentration. It is not difficult to be successful with the puck in front. However, throughout the course of a game pucks are never passed perfectly. Working on incorporating puck control, stick handling and passing will harmonize all positions on the ice.
